    97 f350 dually 2wd ex cab w/ S B cold air intake - edge evo tuner - 4 in exhaust - bellowed up pipes - intercooled - afe diff cover - 91000 mi

    When I did mine, I didnt use a torque wrench.
    Just put on some forma gasket and made good and tight.

    I may have the actual spec, but that would be at home and I won't be out of the hospital til tomorrow night. (hopefully)

    Oil Filler Plug 15-30 ft.lb
    Axle Vent 15 ft.lb
    Brake Backing Plate Nuts 50-70 ft.lb
    Driveshaft to Axle Companion Flange 8-15 ft.lb
    RABS Sensor Hold Down 26-30 ft.lb
    Axle Shaft Bolts
    Note: on Full Floating Axle 60-80 ft.lb
    Hub Nut
    Note: on Full Floating Axle 55-65 ft.lb
    Note: Before ratcheting back 5 notches

    I couldn't bring myself to bust out a torque wrench for cover bolts

    Tight is right ! to tight is broken as my old shop tearcher used to say lol

    2 squeaks to the right usually gets it done.

    Of you don't mind me asking, are you just doing a service or are also up grading your cover too?

    I had my rear end (on the truck!) rebuilt a couple of years ago. Then I went with the '08 diff cover and fully synthetic oil.

    If your upgrading to the '08 cover, remember that you will need all new, longer bolts.

    just changing the gear oil and checking for play. bought the truck about a year ago , been wanting to see if it was ever done.
