Thread: 2000 F350 front end rebuild

    2000 F350 front end rebuild

The Ford dealership recently told me I need a new front end rebuild. They wanted around $1200 for the job. Anyone know of a good shop in the central/north phoenix/scottsdale area that does front end/steering work that you trust for a reliable estimate?

Has anyone found a more heavier duty steering system upgrade.

    I appreciate anyone's feedback.
    Thanks.

Thats the one I just installed.....nice kit, good quality, and like mentioned above, SERVICEABLE.

Took me about 4.5-5hrs on the cold concrete in 10* weather to install. I looked at it like saving an easy 1000-1400 bones, since I had qoutes from a few different places. There are some really good write-ups I found (after the fact...lol..) that should make it a breeze for even a basic home mechanic. I would definetely recommend getting your hands on a ball joint press though. It made life soo much easier for me that day.

I did my ball joints about 15-20k ago and they aren't to bad to do.

    Thanks for all the input.
They said it was drag link, tie rods along with new ball joints. They didn't give me a detailed quote because I laughed at them and told them they were crazy.
I've see the kit to DIY, I just don't have alot time and its my daily driver.
The writeup I read was at :

I've heard good things about Strictly Deisel, I'll have to take it in and see what you guys think. At least I can believe your assessment.
