I really want to get this radio but Amazon is saying that it will fit for an 05 but not an 01??? Is there a big difference in these factory double din radios?

I would have to cut out that plastic trim piece between the radio and ac controls. If it was local I would buy it, hold it up to get a visual and if it didn't work i could always return it. I think an inch might be too much.

I was just thinking about it and realized that Shawn actually had to buy a trim piece for his. If it's about a 1/2" thick all the way around.......there it is! Any way you could throw a tape on the face of your deck and get a measurement?

Just called Crutchfield and was told that "the front is a Double DIN face but that back of the dash tapers off to more like a single??? You would have to do some fab work back in the dash to make a tight fit which I wouldn't recommend". That being said makes me want to do it even more! I took some measurements and found out I have plenty of room, the only thing I'm worried about is the need to adjust the bar/rail the factory radio slides on to......it's pretty stout. If it doesn't end up working out would anyone be interested? I think I'm gonna order it and give it a shot.
